JanSport Driver 8 Metro Roller DaypackThanks to its tuck away shoulder straps, the JanSport Driver 8 is the perfect combination of daypack and luggage case. The two 3.15 inch inline wheels grip the surface with ease, and along with the retractable handle, make a trip through the airport a breeze. Unlike many other rolling backpacks, the Driver 8's retractable handle does not require you to push it down; simply press a button and the handle retracts itself. One customer has complained that the retractable handle broke down after five months of daily use, though this may be an isolated incident. Overall, reviews of the JanSport Driver 8 daypack have been overwhelmingly positive. There are two main sections to the Driver 8, as well as a padded latptop section for laptops with a display screen of up to 15.1 inches. Additional storage is provided by the front compartment and provides enough space for small electronics and school supplies (though the pockets are still quite large for smaller items like pens and pencils). There is also a small side strap for a water bottle. This rolling laptop backpack can easily carry over thirty pounds still roll in a straight line (thereby preventing the "shopping cart lean") even when rolling over rocks. The size of the backpack can hold even the heaviest student workload, but the size can be a bit much, especially when it comes to navigating by rows of desks in a crowded classroom. Another slight disadvantage is its tendency to lean forward when full. While not an issue in itself, this can eventually lead to tearing the fabric if you roll the backpack a lot. A simple fix - for JanSport engineers anyway- would be to install a small piece of plastic along the front frame to secure it further.
